Yoga experts say that breathing can really help lower your blood pressure. One of the medical breakthrough, doing one breath at time can produce new blood which supports many health benefits.

A study in Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback reports. Subjects who practiced alternate-nostril breathing for four rounds of seven and a half minutes, their systolic and diastolic blood pressure dropped one point each. A very significant decrease for such a simple activity.

Each nostril holds nerves that reach different areas of the hypothalamus, a part of the brain that regulates blood pressure. When this nerve stimulates separately, they activate the hypothalamus and your blood pressure decreases.

You can apply it by holding your right nostril closed and inhale through the left. Close the left nostril and exhale through the right. Then inhale through it. Close the right and exhale through the left. Do this for nine rounds at least twice a day.

There is no harm in trying. This can really help in emergency circumstances. Knowledge is power so please take note of this simple step to lower blood pressure.
