Influenza - A Respiratory Disease
Influenza or commonly known as Flu is a respiratory illness caused by a virus. Recently in human history, the world was struck by a dreaded flu virus known as AH1N1. This virus was an epidemic causing massive deaths worldwide specifically in Mexico.
There are three types of flu, type A, B and C. Types A and B are the most common flu which can also cause an epidemic outbreak. Influenza can be transferred from one person to another by means of liquid that contains the virus. Coughing, sneezing and or even touching a person with flu can be dangerous.
Basic symptoms of Flu are high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, chilling, fatigue, body ache, dry cough and colds. Remember not to ignore these symptoms because Flu can lead to serious health complications such as convulsions, pneumonia, and delirium. However,flu can be managed by drinking lots of water, medicines, plenty of rest, not smoking. It the symptoms persist for three days or more, consult a doctor immediately.
Another
way of avoiding this disease is in the form of vaccine. However, flu vaccines cannot totally guarantee immunization from the virus but only to minimize its effect. Kids 6 years old below are not permitted to have the flu vaccines not unless with doctor's approval.
Simple and natural ways to prevent the spread of flu virus is to stay away with the infected person. Always wash your hands when sneezing and after you use the comfort room. Carry a hand sanitizer with you all the time to make sure you are always clean when in contact with others. Wear facial mask when walking in public places. Another best thing is to take supplements to keep our body strong and immune to these viruses.
