Facts About Vitamin B6
This will be the last part of my vitamin B complex articles. I will now give you facts about vitamin B6.
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin just like other B vitamins. The active form of B6 is pyridoxal phosphate and is responsible for many amino acid metabolism. This includes transamination, deamination and decarboxylation. It is also necessary for enzymatic governing the release of glucose from glycogen.
Two other forms of vitamin B6 are pyridoxine and pyridoxamine. Vitamin B6 performs a lot of functions in our health. Functions such as red blood metabolism, strengthens nervous and immune system, involves in protein metabolism, conversion of amino acids into many forms of vitamins and many more functions.
Vitamin B6 can be found in wide array of foods like cereals, meats, vegetab
les, bananas, fruits, poultry and fish foods and many more. Vitamin B6 is also important to help maintain your blood glucose levels. Our body needs vitamin B6 to help convert carbohydrate and other nutrients to glucose to support blood sugar levels.
