As a person who has been overweight all her life and had recently lost over 220 pounds, I have mixed feelings about this article. I do not believe the only way to avoid the psychological issues surrounding weight is to lose. Should you lose for health reasons, probably. However, you should not lose because some article that quotes "research" but does not name the research tells you that it is hopeless. I lost because I wanted to, not because society said I should. If you are going to lose weight, do it for yourself. Forget the media!
