Health Benefits Of Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes or locally known as "kamote" here in the Philippines, is one of the most nutritious and delicious vegetables in the planet. I remembered when I was a kid, I can get kamote through my neighbor's backyard. Just by steaming it, you can already have a nutritious snack which can really make your stomach full.
This vegetable is of the same size with potatoes but a little sweeter in taste. It is packed with lots of nutritional benefits that are crucial for your health. Like other tropical vegetables, it is mainly composed of vitamin A which gives more than 300% of your daily value of vitamin A.

Sweet potatoes also promotes weight loss due to its fat burning properties and its good for our digestion. If you are looking for antioxidant components, sweet potatoes contains beta carotene, a carotenoid substance which is a precursor to vitamin A and helps prevents cancer, cellular damage and aging.
Sweet potatoes are also rich in vitamin C, D, B5, B6, iron and potassium. So sweet potatoes can actually help you ward off stress, fatigue and will give you softer skin and more energy. It is also have magnesium, which can give you a relaxation effect that also wards off stress.
Although sweet potatoes are sweet, its natural sugars are slowly released into the bloodstream. This promotes energy without sacrificing your blood sugar levels. It also helps regulate heartbeat and nerve signals as well as managing the activities of your kidneys.
Sweet potatoes are inexpensive and a versatile vegetable. It can be backed, grilled, steamed or roasted. It can also be a great ingredient to soups and other food dishes. So if you like to have a nutritious and inexpensive snack, then eat kamote!
